The sixteenth Sunday after pentecost

September 13, 2026

Generous God,
we are glad there are days it's so easy to say thank You.
We are glad You understand the days
when all around seems like bad news.
So, whether our thanks come easy today
or it's hard to see the positives,
we know You hear us and love us.  Amen.

Acolyte Ministry:

If you are looking to be more involved with Church life at ASOD, please consider becoming an acolyte. We are currently looking to add several more acolytes to our group for both Saturday and Sunday services.
Training is easy!

If you would like more information,
please contact Kevin Nicastro, Senior Warden for the details. Email: srwarden@desertsaints.org.

Altar Flowers:

We were recently notified by our florist that the cost for weekly floral arrangements for our altar has gone up by 23% as of September 1st. In addition to the increase in price, they are now charging a $10 weekly delivery fee. Each arrangement will now cost us $50. Therefore, we must raise the memorial altar flower donations minimum to $50. As usual, the church does not make any money from these requests. We will monitor this for the remainder of the year and determine if this will be feasible for the church moving forward.
Altar Guild:
The Altar Guild is a liturgical partner to our clergy, preparing everything necessary for the celebration of the Eucharist and other sacraments. They maintain the altar linens, vessels, and implements kept in the church sacristy and help with seasonal decorations according to the Church calendar, reflecting the holiness and joy of worship. We are currently in need of more members for this important ministry. If you have a few hours a month to assist this vital service or have any questions, please contact Donna Betz (Donna.Betz.asod@gmail.com) or Kathy Kingsbury.
ASOD Window Decals:
The car window decals to publicize our wonderful, warm church are in!  Help us evangelize God's presence in the West Valley. One each is available for a household to pick up after service today. If you would like a second one, we are asking for a $5 donation for each to cover the cost.
A big thanks to Eric Siberg for his idea and generous donation for the decals!

If you do not have food to donate, any $1 bills placed in the collection plate will be given to the Valley View Community Food Bank. You may also place spare dollars or change in the collection can beside the Food Bank Wagon. Every gift, large or small, helps make a difference.

Commemorative Bricks:

Looking for a unique and special Memorial to honor someone?  Please consider a custom engraved brick to be included with our other memorial bricks around the Church or for you to use at home.  You can view the bricks parishioners have ordered outside the east Church Narthex.  Order forms are in the Narthex and Church Office.  Please contact Steve Meoli at 774-722-2406 with any questions.

Watch our for Scammers!!

Please be aware that no one from All Saints will ever ask you for money or gift cards for our clergy or a special cause via e-mail or text.  Do not respond to any message or e-mail that is sent to you requesting funds, because that is when they get into your computer or phone.  It is a phishing scam.  Protect your security!

Parishioner Profile:
Tim Ruane

Before coming to All Saints of the Desert, I feared the Lord and
worried about keeping pace with God. At ASOD I’ve learned to
love the Lord and found that God has been the one to keep pace
with me. I’ve been attending ASOD since 2024 and give thanks
for being received into the Episcopal Church through the love,
care and prayers of my fellow members in November 2025.
Unlike many people in the Sun City and Peoria area, the
Valley of the Sun has been “my home and heart” since I was a kid.

In the community life here at ASOD you’ll find me serving
as an acolyte or lector on Sunday and joining others in
Morning Prayer on Wednesday. I also look for moments of
quiet prayer and reflection. I like to keep my eyes and ears open
to new opportunities to grow and learn in the faith and in my
prayer life, and to look for other ways to make myself useful
in the Lord’s service. Outside of Church and work I try to keep
myself busy with reading, looking up new recipes, enjoying
music and maintaining an active lifestyle.

ASOD WINDOW DECALS
 HAVE ARRIVED!

The car window decals to advertise ASOD are in! One each is available for a household to pick up after service today.
If you would like a second one, we are asking for a $5 donation for each to cover the cost.
A big thanks to Eric Siberg for his idea and generous donation for the decals!

OUR BELOVED MUSIC DIRECTOR
IS LEAVING US!

Please join us at fellowship this Sunday for a “Thank You” and “Well Wishing” cake.
David Zych, our music director, is leaving us as of September 13th after about 8 years of
service to ASOD. David has decided to look at his next chapter in life
and how he can fulfill some of his life’s dreams.
We wish him the best in finding that new road for his next journey.
