Forward Movement is best known for their monthly publication, "Forward Day By Day".  They also offer a number of online resources for prayers, devotions and readings. click HERE to access their "Prayers and Thanksgivings" page.  A menu bar at the top of the window will allow you to navigate to other resources as well. For more than 90 years, Forward Movement has helped followers of Jesus deepen their daily walk with Christ. Established by the 1934 General Convention of the Episcopal Church to “reinvigorate the life of the church,” the ministry began publishing Forward Day by Day in 1935 and has since expanded from tracts and booklets to conferences, courses, podcasts, apps, and online prayer communities, all designed to foster spiritual growth and discipleship. Inspired by conversations about what comes next for those seeking a richer spiritual life, this partnership reflects a shared commitment to transforming lives and strengthening the church’s witness in a hopeful and changing world by "Inspire Disciples and Empower Evangelists".

The Jesus Movement in the Episcopal Church emphasizes a community centered on love and service.  This movement, inspired by the teachings of Jesus, encourages followers to live out their faith through actions that reflect love, liberation, and life-giving relationships with God, each other, and creation.

Core Principles

Love and Service: Members are called to love God and their neighbors, embodying the teachings of Jesus (Matthew 22:36-40).

Community Engagement: The movement seeks to expand into local contexts, encouraging active participation in the community.

Holistic Participation: It involves all aspects of life, including prayer, worship, and daily actions.

Leadership and Vision

Bishop Michael Curry has been a prominent advocate for reimagining the church as part of this movement, inviting Episcopalians to embrace their role in the Jesus Movement.

The movement is seen as a collective effort of believers, transcending individual contributions.

The Bible Project

The Bible Project is a nonprofit, crowdfunded organization that makes free resources like videos, podcasts, articles, and classes to help people experience the Bible in a way that is approachable and transformative. This is accomplished by showcasing the literary art of the Scriptures and tracing key biblical themes from Genesis to Revelation. While the prospect of reading the entire bible may seem daunting, the experience is a truly an enlightening one.  Moreover, the Bible Project’s resources help people experience the Bible in a way that is approachable, engaging, and transformative.  Their reading plans include short bible readings accompanied by informative and entertaining readings that truly bring the bible to life each day.  With an investment of less than a half hour a day, you will read the entire Bible and gain an infinitely deeper understanding in less than a year.

If you’ve yet not read the entire bible, you owe it to yourself to give it a try.
