I'M NEW AND I HAVE QUESTIONS ???
New Members Appreciation Dinner 2026

WELCOME TO WORSHIP!
WE ARE SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE!
All Saints of the Desert Episcopal Church in Sun City is a place where people can meet Jesus, engage in life-giving community, and everyone is welcome regardless of sexual identity or orientation. We believe in creating a space where people can have authentic encounters with Christ, discover their gifts and use them for God's glory.
WHAT TO EXPECT
You will be warmly welcomed by a parishioner and offered worship materials, a scripture sheet and weekly newsletter. Hymnals (red book) are in the pews (to sing along with the congregation), and our Episcopal liturgy will guide you through the service. Our service follows a shared Episcopal liturgy with readings from the Old Testament, Psalms, New Testament, and Gospel. A typical service will last about 50 minutes. We sing a good mix of contemporary and traditional music that is led by our music director. Plan to hang around after the service for fellowship and meeting new people. If you love to sing, join the choir!
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Episcopalians believe in a loving, liberating, life-giving God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection bring salvation. All Saints of the Desert has a legacy of commitment to inclusion, affirming God's love for every person. Women and men, lay and ordained, share leadership at all levels of the church, regardless of sexual identity or orientation. God loves YOU - no exceptions. We do to!
WHAT TO WEAR?
Come as you are. Some folks dress up, others dress casually. Wear whatever feels appropriate and comfortable to you.
WHEN DO I KNEEL, STAND OR SIT?
Episcopalians stand or kneel for prayer, sit for instruction and stand for praise during worship. You're welcome to follow along, or simply do what feels comfortable for you.
WHAT TO DO AT COMMUNION TIME?

At the Last Supper, Jesus was surrounded on three sides of the table by His Disciples. The fourth side is empty. Jesus is waiting for you to join him at His Table. He has held space just for you. No one is refused at the Table of the Lord. You process forward and can either stand or kneel at the Communion Rail. You simply cup your hands and the Priest or Deacon will place the Host into your hands. If you choose not to receive the Host at this time, simply cross your arms over your chest and the Priest or Deacon will give you a blessing. Next will be the offering of the Wine by the Chalice Bearer. You have three choices: you can sip from the Chalice, dip your Host into the Wine, or simply cross your hands over your chest to receive a God's blessing.
