Vestry Responsibilities


The Vestry is the legal representative of the parish with regard to all matters
pertaining  to its corporate property. The number of vestry members and the
term of office varies from parish to parish. Vestry members are
 usually elected at the annual parish meeting. The presiding officer of the vestry
is the rector. There are usually two wardens. The senior warden is the link between the
 parish and the rector and is a support person for the rector. The junior warden
often has responsibility for church property and buildings but more importantly
as the connector between the Vestry and the parish community. A treasurer
 and a secretary or clerk may be chosen. These officers may or may not be
Vestry members. The basic responsibilities of the vestry are to help
 define and articulate the mission of the congregation; to support the church’s
 mission by word and deed, to select the rector, to ensure effective organization
 and planning, and to manage resources and finances.

Rev. Canon Harry Way

Interim Rector
Father Harry is serving a second term as our Interim Rector. He is known for his wisdom and kindness, his inspiring Bible
Study classes, his attentive listening, and his steadfast support as a member of our Vestry.

Kevin NiCastro

Senior Warden
Kevin has dedicated his career to overseeing nonprofit programs in mental health and services for people with developmental disabilities. He has managed nonprofit and state program budgets ranging from $3 million to $50 million and has also served as treasurer on several community boards. 

Deborah Brown

Junior Warden
Deb works closely with the Rector, and the Senior Warden to assist in the running of the church family.  Her main responsibility is to work as a connector to parishioners while assisting the Building and Grounds Committee.

Jeff Argotsinger

Vestry Member
Jeff grew up in Iowa and spent 32 years in the Reisurance business with General Electric and Swiss Re.  He is an avid golfer and spends time with his three children and grandchild.  He has been married to Betsy Argotsinger for 39 years.  In addition to golfing, he enjoys traveling, watching all type of sports and spending time with his family. 

John Jauch

Vestry Member
John grew up in Columbus, Ohio, where he attended church. He spent 38 years working at General Motors as a mechanical engineer specializing in tools and processes. He enjoys playing golf and traveling to visit family and friends, most of whom live east of the Mississippi River. Prior to being chosen to serve on the ASOD Vestry, he was a member of two different church councils.
Cyndi Haines
Vestry Member
I have been lifelong Episcopalian, I was immediately struck by ASOD’s warmth and friendliness when I first attended more than two years ago. Now serving on the Finance, and Building and Grounds committees and recently elected to Vestry for a 2-year term, I am honored to share that same welcome with others.

Pam Magrogan McGrath

Vestry Member
Pam generously shares her time and talents with All Saints through her work on the updating of the lighting and audio systems, her voice in the choir, and her service on the IT team with Mike Hohl. She also developed and manages the ASOD website, helping to keep the All Saints community connected and informed.

Sue Prendergast

Vestry Member
Sue joined the Vestry in 2026.  She is a former educator and an active volunteer on with the Vet's Luncheons, and the Desert Angels Women's Group leading study groups.  She organized the All Saints Book Club.  

Rachel Wight

Vestry Member
Rachel Wight has been a devoted member of All Saints of the Desert Church for five years. As a Vestry member, she is a welcoming presence, faithful advocate, and supportive friend, committed to fostering a compassionate, inclusive community where all are valued and encouraged in their faith journey. 

Shelly McBride

Clerk of the Vestry
Shelly serves as our Vestry clerk and records, in written form, all the business that the Vestry conducts.  She presents the Vestry with the legal Minutes of the Vestry each  month.

Mike Hohl
Treasurer 

Mike is a former CEO with extensive executive and financial experience, having served as Senior Warden and three terms as Treasurer during his faith journey in the Episcopal church. He is committed to responsible stewardship and sound financial management supporting the mission and ministries of All Saints of the Desert.
