Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat is founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety.

In 1998, the Episcopal Habitat Coalition was formed in the Valley. Since then the Coalition has participated in more than 40 home building projects and contributed $1 million.
All Saints of the Desert parishioners participate in multiple builds each year. No experience is required, experienced trades-persons are present to teach and supervise. Volunteers assist in a variety of tasks; pounding nails, dry-walling, painting, shingling roofs, or planting trees.
